Bux and Legos {Simple Things Sunday}

We got off to a very late start and missed dates we had scheduled with friends.  What can I say, it was a late night last night and we were all running on fumes.  Starbucks was definitely needed today.

What better way to spend a Sunday than with coffee and legos.

Morning Workouts

The mornings have been just wonderful this week that I couldn't pass up doing my workouts at the beach.

It's true what they say - The best camera is the one that's with you.

Obviously I don't work out with my DSLR but my iPhone did come in handy.

Fresh air, nature's water mist, and jellyfish at your feet ... WHAT!? Yes, Jellyfish!  I was glad I wore my shoes today.  Next week the pug will be joining me for a leisure walk on the shore.  Keep an eye out for those photos.

Simple Things Sunday - Outdoors

With such beautiful weather we couldn't pass up spending it outside so we got our "Simple Things Sunday" started early.

Weekends are usually the only days I have time to make pancakes from scratch.  Chocolate chip pancakes are the family's favorite, no syrup needed, with a side of fruit.

Yesterday we thought we would take a late trip to the beach.  Winter time at the beach in Florida is absolutely perfect weather.  We tossed the frisbee around for a while, built volcanoes, and soaked up some Vitamin D.  Just before the sun started setting we headed back home.

Since yesterday was all about us and our pug didn't get to enjoy the beach with us we thought we would surprise him by taking him to the doggie park.

I nearly passed out when I saw this Great Dane come greet my Pug - he would have been an appetizer.

After doing a few trips up the ramp and sniffing a few rear ends it was time to go home and get ready to watch the big game.

What a game it's been so far.  I have been taking breaks during this post to watch the New England Patriots play the Baltimore Ravens.  Personally, I'm a Brady fan so I hope for them to win.  Although, after watching The Blind Side I have a soft spot for Michael Oher, what can I say, I can be a big softy sometimes.

Stop by Rebecca's weekly link party to view all of the other photos submitted by fellow photographers/ bloggers/ life lovers.

Let's go PATRIOTS!! I want to see them at the Super Bowl!

Taking a Ride

This afternoon my four-legged friend hopped in my backseat and took a ride around town with me.  He was so cute, I had to take a few pictures of him whenever possible since I was driving but ... had I not been I'm sure we would have had a photo shoot in the backseat.  We ran errands most of the day but I could tell he was enjoying his day out.  Most days he spends them minding the house so today was definitely a treat.  I could take photos of him all day ... he is one of my best models.

By the end of the day he couldn't wait to climb in his (orthopedic) bed.

What can I say? He is livin' the dream.

4" OFF

So here I am, running late.  I finally got around to getting that haircut I mentioned a few posts ago.  I was so surprised how much lighter I felt.  Funny, right?  Who would have thought that cutting your hair a bit would make such a big difference.  My plan was to go in for a trim.  As I sat on the chair thinking how a trim wouldn't make a difference in the way it looked, I gave the hairstylist power over my hair.  While she started to cut an inch off my hair I asked her, "How much do you suggest I take off to get it looking healthy again?"  I knew the answer wasn't going to be a good one ... she said, "about 4 inches"

WHAT!?! 4 INCHES! "Fine, just do it," I said to her.  It was the best decision I could have made.

Not only was it faster to dry but I feel a bit younger.  I prefer this length so much more than what it was this morning.

Football Party

project 52 p52 weekly photo challenge my3boybarians.com

We had outstanding weather today to celebrate a teammate's birthday at the beach.  I must say that the family really did put a lot of thought into the celebration and I know it was all done with love.  My little one has already been having input on the plans for his birthday.

I forget how lucky we really are to live in such a beautiful place.  The days have been a bit fresh, but nothing compared to the west coast or other parts of the states that can get a lot cooler.  Today's high: 73.

My plan tomorrow is to have the beach sand be my couch.

Family Day {Simple Things Sunday}

Sundays are just family days.  No schedules, no plans, no rush to get anywhere ... which is why today we had a late brunch and took a drive across the bridge to one of our favorite diners, Jerry's Deli.

A peek at Collins Avenue.

A little bit of entertainment while the little one waits.

A family day would not be complete if a game wasn't played.

And now off to watch the Golden Globes.  Happy SUNDAY!

Celebrating

... and this is how we do it ...

Trash Packs (Guest Blogger)

Today my little one wanted the world to see his "trash pack".  I seriously don't know who comes up with these things but there is always a phase ... friendship bracelets, mighty beanz, silly bandz ... and I am sure I can go on and on ....

So here is the current craze.  TRASH.

Time for Change {Wordless Wednesday}

It has taken me a long time to get my hair to grow out this long and not do anything drastic.  However, I feel it is starting to become such a drag to manage all this hair!!!

The plan for tomorrow is to schedule an appointment for change.

Feeling a bit spoiled {Sweet Shot Tuesday}

Today's photo may not be one of my best shots, especially if entering it for a photo challenge, but I have to give credit to my husband on a job well done.  This morning my sweetheart made me a delicious breakfast while I got caught up with the news.

So blessed ... and maybe a little spoiled too.

Beauty~Night Routine

Before I head to bed I wanted to share my night time products with you all.  I cannot stress enough how important it is to wash your face at night.  Regardless of how tired you may be, it is a MUST.

I keep this in my bathroom sink or shower and use it twice a week with the Olay ProX Brush.  This brush reminds me of the high-end brand I can't remember at the moment.  Not that I have it but I would imagine it is something like it.  The face wash is the Mario Badescu Glycolic Foaming Cleanser.  I just ran out of my trusty L'Occitane Immortelle Brightening Cleansing Foam so that is why it's not part of this photo :-(

After I wash, I make sure to put some hydrating products on my face.  Something rich and creamy because night time is the best time for your face to soak up all the goodness from your face cream.

This is just a few of my items I keep next on my dresser at the moment.  By now you should know that I like to mix things up a bit every once in a while and give my skin a bit of change when it comes to products.

For my night cream I am using the Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Cream.  It really does make me feel like I've had a mini-facial the next morning.  I've also been having a dry patch of skin near my brows lately and have had to add a bit of extra moisture, which is why you see the Alba Un-Petroleum Jelly.  I love this stuff.  I use this at night on days I may have been out in the sun for too long, layered over the MAC Complete Comfort Cream.  I try not to apply the Olay Regenerist near my eyes, I'm always afraid that it might melt it's way into my eyes.  Call me crazy but I've had it sting a few times when it's come too close to my eyes.  For that specific area I use L'Occitane Immortalle Eye Cream.  My lips have also been a bit on the dry side but I blame that mostly on the cold front we've been having.  To soften my pucker I use the Boots Coconut balm.  And let us not forget about our hands ...  As much as I would love to use my rubber gloves while doing the house work, I often forget and my hands pay the price.  Santa was kind enough to bring the Shea Moisture Organic Hand Cream to me for Christmas along with some other goodies in my stocking.  Don't worry, you won't be a grease ball and stain your sheets.  It absorbs very quickly and leaves my hands so soft.

Well, I am off to do all of the above.  Good night!
